TWO first half goals saw Harriers beaten 2-0 in friendly action at Halesowen Town.

The home side dominated much of the first half and, after some early pressure, netted twice in the space of around six minutes.

The opener came on 17 minutes when great work from Cobourne saw him power forward before firing at goal, the ball nudged either on or just over the line by Westwood for good measure. Soon after it was two, a simple corner routine seeing Evans teed up on the edge of the area before firing into the net with the aid of a deflection.

Cobourne almost made it three before firing off target before Hemmings drove a free kick over the bar up at the other end as the first half edged towards its close without much more drama.

Harriers saw sight of goal early after the restart when Austin forced a low save and Morgan-Smith nodded down and wide at the far post from the resultant corner.

Five minutes later Halesowen had the chance to add to their score from the spot after a foul in the area but, from 12 yards, Ali found himself thwarted by Palmer as the goalkeeper pushed his effort away, before doing well to keep Holmes at bay soon after.

With 13 remaining Morgan-Smith went close to getting Harriers on the score sheet but, having rounded the goalkeeper off a chipped pass forward, could only nudge his shot into the side netting on a tight angle.
