Penn again a Harrier

Harriers snap up Russ Penn on a free transfer from York City…

Returning midfielder, Russ Penn

HARRIERS are pleased to confirm the signing of former Aggborough midfielder Russ Penn on a free transfer from York City.

Penn has signed an 18-month deal and goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s trip to Nuneaton Borough in National League.

Russ, who turned 33 yesterday, began his senior career with Harriers in 2005 after leaving Scunthorpe where he’d been a youth prospect. He went on to make 178 appearances for the Reds in squads that hovered around the National League play-off spots and reached Wembley in the FA Trophy Final of 2007 before departing two years later.

Since then, he’s gone on to feature extensively for the likes of Cheltenham Town, Burton Albion and York City to name a few, but has now returned to Worcestershire to aid a Harriers squad looking to make an impression in National League North.

Keep an eye on our YouTube channel for exclusive reaction from Russ on his Harriers return.
