JOEL TAYLOR insists Harriers still have a firm belief they can gate-crash the National League North play-offs this season.
The Reds are four points adrift of seventh place having fallen to a 3-0 defeat at Chorley last weekend.
And while that halted a mini revival of sorts, Harriers still have a big number of their play-off rivals to face between now and the conclusion of the term.
Full-back Taylor admitted to being disappointed with the afternoon at Victory Park that saw the team far from at their best.
But the former Stoke City youngster was steadfast in his belief that the team can still make up the ground.
“We were very disappointed in the team performance – we didn’t play anywhere near as good as we usually do,” he reflected.
“[We conceded] very early on in the game and it’s very hard to get back into the game, no matter who you’re playing against.
“… we have the right players to know we can definitely make the play-offs.”
“Brandon had a brilliant game and kept us in the game for a long period of time.
“It was a difficult game.”
Harriers welcome Spennymoor Town to Aggborough this coming weekend – yet another promotion rival.
Taylor added: “It’s another game and another chance to put everything right, to get us back to where we need to be and where we want to be.
“Hopefully we can get the three points and a positive team performance.
“We have all the belief in our squad, and we have the right players to know we can definitely make the play-offs… we’re doing our best to get three points in every game we play.”
