Hire-It! makes shirt return

More on the return to the front of the shirts for Hire-It!….

HARRIERS fans will notice a not-so-new name on the front of the 2019/20 shirts as Hire-It! Kidderminster return as sponsors.

Hire-It! are no strangers to sponsorship of Harriers, having been a regular feature on the shirts and around Aggborough for many years.

The launch of our brand new kits on Monday, designed and manufactured by Luke 1977 signalled their return to the front of the shirts ahead of the new National League North campaign.

John Davies, owner of the tool hire company based on Worcester Road, Kidderminster, spoke to harriers.co.uk about the new sponsorship and the history behind it.

“This will be the twelfth season Hire-It! have been shirt sponsors, which makes us the longest running,” John said.

“The success of Hire-It! has been brought about with our involvement in the local community, and Harriers are part of that community.

“Because of that, we decided in 2004 to become shirt sponsor, with our second spell starting in 2012 when the club was in financial trouble.”

“For me, it is about seeing people around the town, and even on holiday abroad, wearing the shirts with Hire-It! on the front…” John Davies of Hire-It!

John, whose company also deals in sales and repairs as one of the most established businesses of its kind in the area, added: “People ask me ‘why do we do it?’

“For me, it is about seeing people around the town, and even on holiday abroad, wearing the shirts with Hire-It! on the front – especially the young children.

“There are always ups and downs in football but, being the optimist I am, I am hoping this is the season we get success with promotion back to the National League and then the EFL.

“All I can do is ask the fans to support the club, as Hire-It! has done.”

We’d like to thank the team at Hire-It! Kidderminster for their support.

Fans can see the new Luke-designed, Hire-It! sponsored kits in action for the first time at Aggborough with the pre-season friendly against an Aston Villa XI on Wednesday, 10 July, 7:30pm.
