RUSS Penn has praised Kai Lissimore for taking his Harriers opportunity with both hands this season.

The 19-year-old midfielder has penned a new contact with the club and is currently enjoying a strong run of performances in the side.

Speaking just prior to the news being announced, Manager Penn saluted Lissimore’s aggression in making the most of what he’s been given this season.

Penn said: “He’s taken his opportunity with both hands and he’s not going to let anyone have his shirt, it’s as simple as that.

“It is a team game but it is one of the most selfish industries going, and you’ve got to look after yourself sometimes.

“If everyone does that, the team does well.”

Lissimore has been starting games regularly and came off, spent, having taken a bang in the 1-1 draw against King’s Lynn on Saturday.

Penn added: “He’s come from playing no games to playing 12 games in succession.

“He’s running his heart out for the cause and he’ll be robust [from] that in a couple of years’ time.”
