MANAGER Russ Penn has issued the following Open Letter to Harriers fans:
Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for their support in what has truly been the toughest year to manage a football club. The efforts from all involved at Kidderminster Harriers has been overwhelming and I’m so proud of everyone’s hard work.
Collectively as a club, we have gone from dealing with a four-month lockdown, a makeshift pre-season programme and a delayed start to the season. Then, with frustrations heightened the season began. There were no fans, then fans, then no fans again; postponements, isolation, snow and many more obstacles in between. We did all we could to try and win games of football in amongst all this madness. My players applied themselves week in, week out for themselves, for the club and for you fans and did brilliantly.
Now we have some closure, I must take this opportunity to thank Richard Lane, Neil Male and all other stakeholders for their ongoing support, not just to me but for the club as a whole.
Moving forward, we have to be realistic, but are all naturally ambitious to do well. We cannot wait for a season with fans filling up the Aggborough terraces. Myself, Jimmy, our staff and all the players have had great support from Harriers fans and are looking forward to seeing you all again soon.
This has been an unprecedented year, with the health and safety of everyone the most important thing. I think you will all agree, though, that after all of this, we will have a far greater appreciation for the ‘normal’ things in life. For us, football is what is normal. We can’t wait to have it – and you – back.
Onwards, upwards and COYR!
Russ Penn
