HARRIERS will need to roll up their sleeves and dig in to get the right result against Farsley Celtic on Saturday.
After a successful night against Boston United that secured a 3-1 win in midweek, the Reds travel to the Citadel to face National League North’s bottom club.
Celtic are right in the thick of a fight to avoid the drop – and they’re, actually, reasonably well placed in so much as having a game in hand on AFC Telford above them, being just two points behind.
While results have been hard to come back, they have found the back of the net regularly in recent matches, notching seven in their last four games, notably including a 3-3 draw against Chorley.
That result and performance against a promotion chasing side should be more than enough warning for Harriers who will know what to expect on Saturday.
“It is very tight down there,” said the boss of the division’s relegation tussle. “There’s four or five involved in it still.
“They’ve got the new Manager in Russ Wilcox who I’ve worked under, so I know what he’ll bring to the camp; he’ll be very professional, and he’ll make them a lot more resolute.
“We’ve got to roll our sleeves up and deal with the conditions. If we do and add our quality with it, we’ll be fine.”
Harriers will hope to have Geraldo Bajrami available for Saturday after he missed Tuesday night’s victory over the Pilgrims.
The defender is looking to shrug off a heel issue, with the gaffer hopeful he’ll be able to be involved.
Matt Preston is awaiting a second surgery following his injury last weekend, and the Reds are otherwise in good shape squad wise.
Despite his own team’s good form, Penn isn’t concerned about the bigger picture just yet, and is only focused on doing what’s necessary on Saturday.
“We can only look after ourselves and focus on the next game,” he said.
“If we keep chipping away and winning games then we can’t do much more.
“We’ve got a lot of games to play, there’s a lot of points up for grabs but it is one game at a time – we can only try and win the next game and that’s’ what we’ll try and do on Saturday.”
Kick-off on Saturday at Farsley is at 3:00pm.
Fans can pay for their admission on the day at the ground but can also make purchases in advance.
