HARRIERS put on another solid Aggborough show to pick up three more National League North points against Boston United with a 3-1 win.

Goals from Ashley Hemmings, Sam Austin and Amari Morgan-Smith wrapped up the win for Russ Penn’s men, with the night’s only sour note being the first goal conceded in some time as the Pilgrims netted to make it 2-1.

Even allowing for that, it was a fairly comfortable night’s work for Harriers, who took the lead on 25 minutes after a relatively even start. Alex Penny chested the ball down into the path of Hemmings who jinxed along the edge of the area before rifling a finish past the goalkeeper – and enjoying the celebrations!

Hemmings might well have had a second through a Hemmings header on 38 minutes but that went over – Penny back doing his defensive duties just before the interval as he blocked a Boston effort on the line.

Harriers were bright after the restart and quickly took the game to their visitors once again. With 62 played, the lead was doubled. A superb, cutting pass from Morgan-Smith set Austin away. He turned beautifully and left a defender in his trail before firing beyond Dewhurst coolly.

Seven minutes later that deficit was halved. Simpson did superbly to get down and palm away James Hanson’s effort, but Danny Elliott gladly fired home the rebound to get his team back in it.

That, too, would be short-lived. On 75 minutes the night was complete for Harriers as Morgan-Smith rose well in the area to nod a ball beyond Dewhurst to keep up his own recent run of goals.

In added time, Austin might well have made it four. Penny set off on his merry way with a great run before setting up his team mate who stung the hands of the keeper.
