ALEX Penny will be staying with Harriers beyond the 2021/22 season, we’re delighted to confirm.
The defender first joined the club just over two years ago and has battled through two curtailed campaigns during that time.
His 2021/22 season alone has been remarkable. Initially biding his time to get his opportunity in the starting eleven, he has been an almost constant presence since.
The 25-year-old now has more than 50 Harriers appearances to his name, as well has having netted six times – his first professional career goals – not least the memorable strike in the FA Cup game against West Ham United.
Looking ahead, Penny has now inked a new contract with the club that keeps him at Aggborough until at least the summer of 2023.
Boss Russ Penn said: “Alex has really grown into his position at the football club… he has really made that position his own.
“He’s a young boy who wants to develop in the game and play as high as he can, but he recognises he’s playing at a good football club and getting plenty of game time.
“We’re delighted to have him signed up.”
