A GOAL in each half was enough to condemn Harriers to a 2-1 seat back at Boston United on Tuesday night.
Boss Russ Penn had rung the changes somewhat - after a lengthy injury lay-off, Joe Foulkes was back in the eleven and so, too, was Tom Owen-Evans after an even longer break from action.
In truth they were arguably the biggest sparks for the visitors on the night. Inside nine minutes Owen-Evans had fired over, before the same man set up Keziah Martin two minutes later who saw an effort gathered by goalkeeper Sam Long.
There was a blow for Harriers on 19 minutes when skipper Shane Byrne was forced off through injury, and worse followed nine minutes later when the hosts were awarded a penalty for an infringement in the area. Pollock stepped up to fire the 12-yard effort home.
Harriers battled back, though, and were level on 33 minutes after Nixon was helpless to turn home Foulkes' dangerous cross past his own goalkeeper. Three minutes later, Owen-Evans hit over once more.
The home side sadly needed just nine minutes of the second half to re-establish their lead. Solake's driven pass exploited a huge expanse in the visiting back-line, Pollock gleefully stepping on to it and finishing despite Palmer's attempted save.
Yusifu Ceesay saw an effort blocked by Long on the hour as Harriers tried to respond once again, before Owen-Evans and Caleb Richards tried their luck to no avail.
With two minutes left, Boston almost added a third, but Pearce blocked well to deny Pollock a second.
