HARRIERS and struggling Boston United played out a 0-0 draw at Aggborough on a day of precious few chances.

This was a fairly scrappy affair throughout and, while defences were very much on top, there were only rare glimpses of quality from either side as they were forced to settle for a point that one suspects does more for Boston's prospects than that of Harriers.

The opportunities that presented themselves were more half-chances - Ashley Hemmings had one against his former club on six minutes but Cameron Gregory in goal held it comfortably enough.

Gregory and his counterpart, Tom Palmer, ultimately produced one quality save of note each in the tie - Palmer's came first on 17 minutes as he did excellently to tip a header from an unmarked Atkinson over the bar.

Jack Bearne tried his luck three minutes later but saw his effort deflected on its way to goal, Hemmings then firing across the goal and wide with six to go until the break.

With no other chances of note until deep into the second half, Harriers needed fresh impetus and that came from Tom Owen-Evans and Zak Brown. The latter ended up having two chances to net, first with a rising drive over the bar on 70 minutes.

It was then some 20 minutes before another chance arrived and this one was the best of the afternoon as Brown again took aim, this time from distance. The ball looked on course for the far corner, only Gregory's fine save turning it away from the target with time almost up.
