Defender returns to Aggborough ahead of the new season…

HARRIERS are thrilled to confirm the return to the club of defender Matt Preston.
Matt needs little introduction to Reds fans following a memorable loan spell here during the 2021-2022 season.
He was a big part of a strong run of form at Aggborough during the early part of that 2022, not least his epic performance in the heartbreaking, historic FA Cup defeat to West Ham.
Matt’s time with us was of course cruelly cut short by a serious injury. He returned to competitive action during last term, but a separate injury while on loan at Brackley left him on the sidelines again – just days before the two sides met in the Promotion Final.

Fans will have seen Preston back with Harriers during this pre-season campaign and, after action in a couple of friendlies, the defender has penned a contract with the club ahead of the start of the new League campaign on August 5th – subject to FA confirmation.
A former Solihull Moors, Mansfield and Walsall player, he’s taken the Number 16 shirt in this term’s squad and is ready for action in Friday night’s Aggborough friendly with Liverpool U21.
