HARRIERS saw out 2023 with a home defeat to Boreham Wood despite a strong second half display at Aggborough.

Only a standout performance from visiting keeper Nathan Ashmore prevented Harriers from earning at least a share of the spoils in DY10.

Boreham Wood had taken a two-goal lead through Lee Ndlovu before Gold Omotayo started the comeback with his first Harriers goal, a towering header from Sammy Robinson’s cross.

The second half was dominated by the Reds, with both Shane Byrne and Jack Lambert hitting the woodwork, the latter forcing Ashmore into a string of excellent saves.

Harriers had thought they’d bagged themselves a late equaliser in added time, but Amari Morgan-Smith’s header was chalked off for a foul.
