A look ahead to Saturday’s trip to Dagenham and Redbridge in the National League…

HARRIERS will clock up more miles on Saturday with a trip to face Dagenham & Redbridge.

Phil Brown takes his charges back on the road looking to record a third straight win since taking charge in Worcestershire.

Saturday’s trek south comes just days after the mammoth journey to Hartlepool in midweek, where a resolute performance from the  boys was rewarded with a 1-0 victory.

With another big travel day ahead, it’s the Harriers fans that boss Brown felt for the most, after hailing the dedication of the 55 who made the journey all the way to the Suit Direct Stadium in midweek.

He said: “It was phenomenal to see that many… it’s four-and-a-half, five hours minimum, to watch a game of football that was, quite simply, brutal.

“We rewarded them, every one to a man, woman and child. I think the players are fantastic and they understand what the supporters go through, and the supporters, from that moment I witnessed on Tuesday, understand what the players are going through as well.

“There was a mutual coming together on Tuesday, and if those 55 are at Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday, it will be phenomenal.”

Brown has spoken of the need for the team to lay down a marker for the rest of the division with their performances on the pitch.

The lads have managed that thus far with two league wins to back up a victory in the FA Trophy, but the gaffer has said this has to continue – win, lose or draw.

He added: “You have got to keep putting a marker down in your career, every game is a marker.

“It measures you as a person, it measures your team in terms of quality, and it measures character- how it measures character, I just don’t know because, at the end of the day, it’s one or three points, or you get beat and get your backside spanked.

“You come home on the bus and feel sorry for yourself but you get on with it – that’s the test of a footballer.”

Harriers face a Dagenham side who are gradually finding a little more consistency in their league form.

Save for a three-match winning run near the outset of the campaign, the Daggers have struggled to piece runs together, but have recently been beaten just once in their last five outings.

They’ll come into Saturday’s encounter with plenty of momentum, too, following a last-gasp win over Dorking Wanderers last time out.

Ben Strevens’ men were winners at Aggborough in this season’s return fixture, and this weekend will be the 17th meeting between Harriers and Dagenham in their present form.

Success for Brown’s men this time around will be a first for the club  there since 2006, when three second half goals gave Harriers a 3-1 victory.

Kick off on Saturday is at 3:00pm.

Supporters are reminded that away travel is available from Harriers up to and including Friday afternoon.

The hosts are also selling match tickets in advance, and the price you’ll pay is cheaper than if you wait until match day.
