A look back at Saturday’s goalless draw at Bromley…

HARRIERS had the best of a tight affair at Bromley on Saturday but the two sides at opposite ends of the National League table were made to share the spoils in a 0-0 draw.
To say this was a meeting of few clear-cut chances would be an understatement, as has been the case at times for Harriers this term.
Undeniably, though, it was a point etched out thanks to a solid defensive effort that also reduced one of the top teams in the entire division to equally few openings.
A good surge forward did see Bromley’s Odutayo attack with pace, but when Michael Cheek tried to finish off his cross, the ball came back off him and away for a goal kick.
Cheek did actually have the ball in the net on the half hour mark, but the effort was ruled out for offside thanks to an overzealous Odutayo tried to gate-crash the effort and put the ball home.
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas had the best Harriers sight of goal in the first half, but saw his attempt pull wide, as did Hemmings early in the second period.
Harriers did see more of the goal in that second period and, on 53 minutes, a good Krystian Pearce header was held by the goalkeeper.
Cheek struck waywardly on 67 minutes as a scrappy second half continued, Jack Lambert then hitting a first-time effort five minutes later that flew into the keeper’s arms at pace.
As the game entered the final minute of normal time, arguably the best chance of the day presented itself as Bellis teed up Robinson, but his shot rose over the bar.
Hearts were in Harriers mouths in injury time when Cheek nodded an effort on to the bar, but the offside flag had already been raised.
