Paul Downing is a veteran of around 400 senior appearances, having played the vast majority of his career in the EFL, and penned a contract with Harriers ahead of the 2024-25 pre-season campaign.

Beginning at West Bromwich Albion, Paul made over 180 starts for Walsall in League One between 2012 and 2015 before going on to feature for Blackburn Rovers and Portsmouth.

Having briefly trained with Harriers the summer prior, he moved into non-league with Hereford, featuring over 30 times in all competitions for the Bulls in 2023-24..
