HARRIERS got their home league campaign underway with an ideal 3-0 win over Radcliffe at Aggborough.
Quickfire goals in the second half from Zak Brown, Maz Kouhyar and Ashley Hemmings saw off the challenge of newly-promoted Boro in DY10.
Early on, Hemmings might well have broken the deadlock after just five minutes, forcing Mat Hewelt between the stick into a good save.
Josh Wardle had a good sight of goal for the visitors not long after but planted a header, before Harriers lost skipper Amari Morgan-Smith to injury.
Loanee Maliq Cadogan drove firmly at goal four after the half-hour mark and saw his effort flash wide, with Harriers starting to get into gear when Brown struck over the bar four minutes later.
Cadogan went closer two minutes before the break when his firm, rising drive from the edge of the area beat Hewelt but thumped back off the upright, sub Ben Beresford then adding to the chances with a header wide.
The devastating goal salvo arrived early in the second period and began on 54 minutes when, having blocked the ball high up the pitch, he kept his composure to drive the ball into the back of the net.
Brown was far from done for the day. Less than two minutes later, he supplied Kouhyar with a superbly weighted pass, the York City loanee doing the rest with a perfect, dinked finish over the goalkeeper.
Harriers well and truly put the game to bed just a couple of minutes further ahead when Brown, once again, supplied the ammunition – this time to Hemmings, who coolly rounded Hewelt to find the net for the first time this season.
Hewelt stood up well to thwart Hemmings his second soon after before the game settled again.
Though Hemmings hit wide on 75 minutes, the best of the late chances actually came for Radcliffe. Twice in injury time Christian Dibble had to extend himself to thwart a substitute, first turning aside Luca Navarro’s effort before superbly beating away a distance drive from Anthony Dudley.
