HARRIERS have boosted their midfield with the signing of playmaker Luke Spokes ahead of the new season.
24-year-old Luke counts Grimsby and Boston United among his former clubs and has spent the last two seasons playing for Chippenham Town in National League South where he caught the eye of boss Adam Murray.
The new man brings an energy to the middle of the pitch, with an ability to chip in with a goal or two, too.
He made 45 appearances for Chippenham last term, scoring six times, and will officially become a Harriers player from 1st July, subject to League and FA confirmation.
“Luke is an all-round midfielder who, for me, played in one of the best possession-based teams in National League South last season,” Murray commented of his new arrival.
“He’s very comfortable with the ball, can play with both feet and tactically he’s very good, which is important.
“He’s rare in that he is a technical player but brings a lot of physicality, and he has got goals in him.
“Luke will add a good presence in there for us and fits perfectly into the way we want to play.”
