JOSH Bishop saved a penalty on his Darlaston Town debut at the weekend.

Bish, having signed on loan late last week, was in action for his new club as they travelled to Congleton Town in Northern Premier League action.

The visitors were beaten 1-0 despite their hosts finishing with ten men, but Bishop’s superb save from 12 yards denied Congleton the chance to extend their lead.

Elsewhere, defender Louis Francis made his fifth appearance for Stourbridge.

The Southern League side went down 2-0 at Barwell on Friday night, with the young defender coming off the bench early in the second half. He has previously started four league and cup games for the Glassboys.

Samson Hewett was also in action on Saturday as his Sporting Club Inkberrow side won 1-0 at home to Brixham.

Hewett played the last 12 minutes of the clash, having previously stepped off the bench to net in the team’s 4-3 FA Trophy win against Stafford Rangers the weekend prior.
