HARRIERS progressed to the FA Trophy Fourth Round after a composed penalty shoot-out victory at Worksop Town.

Goalkeeper Christian Dibble the hero as he saved twice following a tense and hard-fought 0-0 draw at the Windsor Foodservice Stadium.

In a tie that never quite found fluency, clear chances were at a premium across 90 minutes, but Harriers remained disciplined and resilient throughout, eventually holding their nerve from the spot to seal progress.

Early on, Riley Reynolds produced the first effort of the afternoon on six minutes, shaping to curl one towards the far corner, though Lewis Forshaw was well placed to gather comfortably. George Walker then injected some pace into the contest on 12 minutes, delivering a low cross that found Amari Morgan-Smith, whose turn and strike was blocked before it could test the keeper.

Worksop responded with a couple of moments of their own. On 21 minutes, a cross was met by Jordan Burrow, but his header drifted well wide, before Lewis Whitham nodded a free kick down and just past the far post two minutes later.

Harriers went close on 25 minutes when Paul Kalambayi guided a header down into the turf, the bounce sitting up kindly for Joe Foulkes, who nodded just over the bar. A Worksop corner shortly before the break saw Luke Waterfall attempt a volley, but the effort was always moving away from goal.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with neither side able to take full control. Whitham was slipped through on 56 minutes and angled a shot narrowly wide, before Dibble was called into action a minute later, reacting sharply to parry away Burrow’s effort after the midfielder found space inside the box.

Harriers came closest to breaking the deadlock on 71 minutes. Foulkes swept a shot towards the bottom corner from 18 yards, forcing Forshaw into a scrambling save, and from the resulting corner Kam Kandola saw an effort hooked off the line.

Owen Evans then produced a strong driving run on 75 minutes, feeding Kurt Willoughby, whose strike flashed wide of the upright. Dibble followed that with an excellent save on 81 minutes, denying Vaughan Redford after the forward was played in and curled towards goal.

Luke Spokes drove forward late on and forced Forshaw into another save with five minutes remaining and, with the deadlock unbroken at full time, the tie was settled by penalties.

Morgan-Smith calmly converted Harriers’ opener before Dibble saved from Joe Leesley. Willoughby and Tobi Sho-Silva both struck confidently, while Martin Woods converted for the hosts. Dibble then produced another crucial save, this time denying Whitham, allowing Kandola to step up and fire home the decisive kick.
