A RUNDOWN of who won what at our end of season award presentations last weekend…
Special Award for 300 Appearances: Amari Morgan-Smith
What can be said about Amari Morgan-Smith that hasn’t already been said? This club legend and stalwart stepped off the bench in last weekend’s 1-0 win over South Shields and, in doing so, joining elite club in Harriers history in becoming a treble centurion.
Across one loan spell and two permanent stints – the latter of which started back in 2020 – ‘Morgs’ has epitomised the desire, determination and commitment required to wear the club badge for as long as he has.
Yes, he’s scored goals – and a lot of them – but he’s also driven teams forward, pulled them from the mire, created memories for supporters that will last a lifetime, and been right in the thick of it through the good and the bad.
For 300 appearances – we say ‘thank you’ Morgs, and congratulations!
Harriers Score Predictor powered by MB Solar Champion – Holly Fenton
Winning the first ever Harriers Score Predictor powered by MB Solar title was Holly Fenton!
The Score Predictor has been a smash hit in its first year and is one of the most popular features of our ever-evolving and improving official club app. It’s simple: predict the outcome, score and scorer before each Harriers match and win points to climb up – or fall down! – the league table.
Finishing top out of almost 1,000 players, Holly bagged 105 points from 48 games to win!
Well done, Holly – as well as getting the chance to present the Supporters Player of the Season award, Holly also wins a free Season Ticket for next term and a signed shirt!
Keep an eye out on our app and social media for details of next season’s competition.
Academy Player of the Season – Bruce Minaker
Through the FA Youth Cup, WFA competitions and beyond, it has been quite the season for Harriers Academy.
Epitomising the quality and belief of the young Reds perhaps more than any other is Bruce Minaker who, this season, completed the ultimate journey of any young Harriers faithful by earning his first professional first-team contract – having started off as a youngster in our Foundation’s Minikickers programme.
His performances for the first team may have caught the eye of fans, but he’s continued to drive forward for the Academy, too – he’s won the Academy Player of the Season award. Well done, Bruce!
Helen Macdonald Trophy for Outstanding Service – Brandon Bevins
Each season, one individual is picked for the prestigious Helen Macdonald Trophy, named after – and presented – by the incomparable Helen Macdonald, an instantly recognisable face and personality to thousands of Harriers fans.
This year, the award for recognising outstanding service to Kidderminster Harriers is Academy Manager, Brandon Bevins. Well done and congratulations, Brandon!
Young Player of the Season – Emeka Obi
Few players can ever claim to have had a first season at Aggborough quite like Emeka Obi.
‘Big Meeks’ was a summer signing following his exit from AFC Fylde and, across the campaign, he’s combined physicality, athleticism, an eye for goal and some unreal dance moves to establish himself as one of the first names on the team sheet – and one of the top names on the scoring charts.
Last weekend he made his 50th appearance of the season – summing up his dependability and consistency. Well done, Meeks!
Away Supporters’ Player of the Season – Joe Foulkes
It has been another long and enjoyable season backing Harriers on the road with victories at the likes of South Shields, Darlington and Merthyr Town.
Huge thanks to all of those fans who book up for award travel organised by the club – each game, they’re asked to pick their Man of the Match to recognise the performances of Harriers players on the road.
Collecting more of those awards than any other player this season is Joe Foulkes, who has enjoyed a fantastic season. Well done, Joe!
Players’ Player of the Season – Ryley Reynolds
While all players relish and enjoy the adulation of supporters, there’s something to be said about having the respect of your peers.
In that respect, massive kudos and congratulations go to Ryley Reynolds, who was voted by the Harriers squad as Players Player of the Season.
What a fantastic second season in Red for Ryley. So much energy and heart from midfield, and 12 goals to boot! Congratulations to Ryley, and thank you so much for your contributions during your stay here.
Harriers Women Player of the Season – Amber Lawrence
It has been a momentous season for Harriers Women following their promotion to the fourth tier of women’s football.
Settling into such a professional and ruthless division was never going to be an easy task, but the departing boss Andy Fisher, Head of Women’s Football Matt Guise and the entire group have shown unbelievable determination to not only survive, but to do so with, in the end, a bit to spare.
Picking a Women’s Player of the Season from such a talented and devoted group isn’t easy, but huge congratulations must go to Amber Lawrence – skipper and leader of the troops – for bagging that award. Lamby is a Harriers favourite who racked up her 100th appearance for the Reds back in October.
Adding three league cups and three championships, she can now add a remarkable survival campaign to her DY10 resume. Brilliant, Amber – well done!
Supporters’ Player of the Season – Joe Foulkes
Joe Foulkes made 43 appearances for Harriers this season before his unfortunate injury in the abandoned game at Radcliffe earlier in the campaign.
Joe had been a constant and steady figure at both ends of the pitch and was – as he always has been – a firm Aggborough favourite before his campaign was curtailed.
His performances left an impression, though. From over 700 votes, Joe was named Supporters’ Player of the Season. Congratulations, Joe, for all you’ve achieved in red so far.
