Vaughan: I couldn’t turn down return

Reaction from Nathan Vaughan as he discusses his Aggborough comeback…

Kidderminster Harriers' Nathan Vaughan

NATHAN Vaughan admits it was a ‘no brainer’ to jump at the chance to re-join Harriers after getting the call from the club.

The 36-year-old shot stopper had been playing for Worcester City but arrives back at Aggborough having previously played here in 2011 and 2014.

Speaking about the move to our Soundcloud channel, the custodian said he needed little time to deliberate.

“I had a fantastic time at Worcester in a brief spell,” he said.

“But when you get the phone call to come back to a club like Kidderminster, it’s a no brainer and I couldn’t turn it down, really.

“I’m just looking forward to getting in, working hard and pushing Brandon for the number one spot – the future is bright.”

Vaughan was part of the 2012/13 squad that went close to promotion to the Football League.

He remembers the time fondly enough, but accepts he was taken aback by the quality of what’s npow at Aggborough

He added: “I’m a little surprised by the standard of the boys out there in training – it’s very sharp and they are technically very gifted.

“There seems to be a great togetherness with the lads as well and the gaffer is in with it all. It’s very tight-knit.”
