Harriers have snapped up the signing of one of non-league’s hottest free agents with the acquisition of prolific striker Ashley Chambers.
The 28-year-old has penned a two-year deal at Aggborough Stadium after leaving Nuneaton earlier this summer and becomes boss Neil MacFarlane’s first new recruit.
Chambers brings plenty of experience with him – the former Leicester City player spent seven years with the Foxes before featuring for the likes of Grimsby and York City – scoring in the play-off final for the Minstermen at Wembley Stadium in 2012.
The Leicester-born man then featured in the Football League for Grimsby once more and Dagenham & Redbridge, before linking up with Nuneaton for a hugely profitable loan spell in 2017. That stint was made permanent this time last year as Chambers inked a deal to remain with Boro – going on to net 25 goals in all competitions last season.
He’s been the subject of significant interest elsewhere but opted for the move to Aggborough ahead of the 2018/19 term.
