HARRIERS have completed a key signing with the acquisition of defender Alex Penny prior to this weekend’s game with York City.
The 23-year-old joins after an influential spell with Boston United where, since October, he has featured regularly as a key part of the Pilgrims team.
His run in the team has coincided with a superb run of form that has seen them move into title contention, six wins from seven firing them to within seven points of the summit.
The right-sided defender came through the youth ranks at Hull City, but was born in Nuneaton and has played much of his football in the relatively local area, with stints at Stourbridge and Nuneaton Borough.

Boss Russ Penn has identified Alex, who is comfortable on the right or at the heart of defence, as a player for the future, with the club’s board backing that belief by signing the player to a long-term contract.
Penny’s deal runs until the summer of 2022 and he’s in line to make his debut against York on Saturday, 3pm kick-off at Aggborough.
