MATT GARDINER was pleased to see Harriers looking a little more like themselves in Saturday’s 2-1 victory at FC United of Manchester.
The team put in their strongest performance of this young season so far to come from behind and claim a first three points of the term.
Manny Sonupe’s brace overturned the home side’s early advantage for a deserved victory, that left Gardiner altogether a little more satisfied.
After the final whistle he commented: “Everyone knows what we’ve had to cope with, with a brand new squad.
“A few bodies have come in this week – as we’ve said all the way along, we just wait for the right players to come along to add to the squad.
“…from the first couple of games, it was a bit more like us [today]…” Matt Gardiner
“There is still a lot of work to do and we are still very much a work in progress.
“But from the first couple of games, it was a bit more like us [today] and that’s what we want to see from the squad moving forward.
“FC United, you can see, are a good team and they pass it well as well.
“It’s a lovely surface to play on, so hopefully it was a good game to watch for the neutrals.
“We have a lot of respect for them and we move on to the next opposition who are Leamington on Tuesday.”
