HARRIERS start the play-offs on Wednesday night, and James Pearson is one player for whom the extension of the season means a great deal.
The reds meet Bradford Park Avenue in the ‘Eliminator’ round of the play-offs on Wednesday night (7:45pm).
Defender Pearson, who returned to the side for Saturday’s league game against the same opposition, is eagerly anticipating the game.
It marks continuation of a fine season so far for the 25-year-old, during which he’s played more regular, consistent football at any other time during his senior career.
Not short of a fine footballing upbringing, his first-team career had been limited to a dozen appearances here or there – a contrast to the more than 30 appearances he’s made already for the reds having arrived in the summer.
As part of a wider interview with Wednesday night’s match programme, he admitted: “Due to a couple of bad injuries I’ve not had long runs in teams.

“That’s why I’m delighted that I’ve played that many games this season and I can push on next season.
“I’m delighted that the manager has stuck with me at times and given me the run of games that I’ve had.
“I came here to get games, but I also came to a team which I felt I could have success with, and I still believe that I definitely can.”
The full interview, which features Pearson’s thoughts on both Saturday’s Bradford game and the one coming up next on Wednesday, is available in The Harrier.
The issue features content exploring our opposition that wasn’t featured in the weekend edition, plus new reports, photos and features.
