JOHN Pemberton has bolstered his defensive ranks with the loan signing of young defender Rhys Williams from Premier League giants Liverpool.
Williams, 18, is a towering central defender who has trained with Harriers during the past couple of weeks, featuring in the pre-season win over Wolves.
While still at a young age, he’s already racked up plenty of accomplishments, having charged through the U18, U19 and U23 ranks at Anfield, where he’s been playing for the better part of a decade.
The Preston-born player was part of Liverpool’s FA Youth Cup winning squad last season, his rapid progress rewarded with a first professional contract earlier this season.
Rhys penned a loan deal with Harriers this afternoon that, with FA confirmation, will see him remain at Aggborough until early January.
He’s in line to make a debut if selected when the Reds host Leamington on Saturday in the first game of the new National League North season, kick-off 3pm.
Welcome to Aggborough, Rhys!
