HARRIERS are ready for their final pre-season match of the ‘summer’ as they head to National League side Stockport County on Saturday.

With the new season – and an FA Cup clash at Alvechurch – now just over a week away, Russ Penn’s men are preparing to round off their friendly programme with a tough test against the Hatters.

Jim Gannon’s men are tipped to do big things in this season’s National League and, ahead of their opener against Torquay next weekend, they’ve been impressing in pre-season, too.

County have, in fact, been racking up the friendly wins. After seeing off Salford, Colne, Curzon Ashton and Guiseley, they travelled to Bootham Crescent last weekend and beat York City thanks to a late strike that earned them a 1-0 success.

Boss Russ Penn, with mounting injury issues, will hope to finish on a relatively high note, after expressing his disappointment with his side after last weekend’s 4-0 defeat to Wrexham at Aggborough.

Kick-off at Edgeley Park is at 1:30pm.

As ever, you can follow the game across our social media platforms, with a match report available on harriers.co.uk soon after the final whistle.
