HARRIERS have boosted their attack with the loan signing of striker Jason Cowley ahead of Saturday’s game with Hereford.
The 25-year-old joins on an initial one-month loan deal from Bromsgrove Sporting, where he has achieved hero status with his goalscoring exploits over the last few years.
Between 2016 and 2019 the former Redditch player bagged a sensational 107 goals in 127 appearances for Sporting, form which earned him a move to the EFL with Stevenage.
Last term he netted five times in all competitions for The Boro, before a loan spell at Solihull Moors in the National League.
Back at Bromsgrove in the summer, Jason has endured a frustrating wait for competitive, first team football, but has the opportunity now with a move to Aggborough.
With the present financial climate involved, the move has been made possibly only thanks to personal contributions from Richard Lane and Neil Male.
Manager Russ Penn said: “I’m grateful to the Board who have again backed us to strengthen the squad at a time when it is needed.
“We’re pleased to have Jason with us for a month – he’s not had a lot of chances to play lately so this is a move that suits everybody.”
Jason will be available to the boss for the game against Hereford on Saturday (3pm). You can watch all the action with our live stream – tickets are available now.
