HARRIERS will look to build on their emphatic 5-0 win over Curzon when the Reds travel to Bradford (Park Avenue) on Saturday.

Russ Penn’s charges put to bed a tricky run of form with the comprehensive Aggborough result against The Nash.

Now it’s time to back that up with what would be an important result on the road.

The team will make the  trek up to the Horsfall Stadium to take on a Bradford side who will have plenty of their own momentum.

Not for the first time this campaign, Harriers will face a team who’ve struggled for much of the term but are in relatively decent shape in recent weeks.

Avenue were handsome winners over Farsley Celtic ten or so days ago, racing into a 3-0 lead at half-time to secure what was a 3-1 win in the end.

They followed that up with an excellent point and clean sheet at league leaders Gateshead, leaving boss Penn in no doubt that his side are coming up against Saturday’s hosts at a tricky time.

“It’s a tough game,” he explained. “I say that all the time!

“They’ve just drawn against the [league] leaders away from home and defended really well.

“They beat Blyth the week before so are coming on the back of two results, and on a 4G surface with the weather expected… we’re really going to have to have some men in the team on Saturday.

“We’ll go there full confidence, knowing that if we perform, we’ve got a good chance of getting what we want from the game.

Harriers have been without Geraldo Bajrami and Nathan Cameron in recent weeks due to injury.

Penn stressed there were no major issues on the injury front, but bemoaned the fact that one or two are again struggling with more minor problems.

He added: “There are niggles every Thursday and it’s very annoying, to be honest.

“I think that’s just part and parcel of the league this year – everyone has got their own injuries, especially going into the latter part of the season.

“We’ve got to manage and tailor these bodies because I just want a fully fit squad to choose from.”

Kick-off at Bradford (Park Avenue) on Saturday is at 3:00pm.
