HARRIERS kept another clean sheet but endured a frustrating afternoon in front of goal in a 0-0 draw at Bradford (Park Avenue).

It was a game that followed the pattern of many others in recent months – Harriers defending soundly for the afternoon and never looking in danger of losing the game, but ultimately leaving themselves chasing a win in the final moments having not quite creating enough at the other end.

Harriers did control much of the game, but more so in the second half. Avenue were arguably the more threatening in the first 20 minutes or so. Within that time they needed a smart, low save from Luke Simpson to keep out Brad Dockerty’s angled attempt.

Sam Austin had the first meaningful crack at the Avenue goal with five minutes left of normal time but fired at the goalkeeper, before Simpson again reacted well at the other end to thwart Lewis Knight.

The second half was more one-way traffic with only Harriers really threatening the goal. On the hour, Omari Sterling hit a trademark free-kick from distance that shot-stopper Sykes-Kenworthy helped on its way over the bar.

Ashley Hemmings fired straight at the stopper with 73 on the clock before the best chance the day came some ten minutes later – Austin’s low cross hit first-time by Freemantle who stabbed his effort wide of the target.

In the final seconds of normal time there was a chance for goals in consecutive games for Keziah Martin, but his 25-yard effort was deflected onto the bar with Sykes-Kenworthy grasping.
