STRIKER Matty Stenson has been recalled by parent club FC Halifax Town.

Matty signed for us just last month on a deal until the end of the season, and has enjoyed a positive spell at Aggborough, featuring in five matches.

He’ll now return to the Shaymen after they opted to exercise the recall within the loan deal.

Boss Russ Penn said: “It’s just part and parcel of the loan situation.

“It was the phone call I was dreading [but] I totally understand.

“Pete [Wild] rang me this morning apologising, but it’s one of those things and if the shoe was on the other foot, I probably would’ve done the same thing.

“I think he has really enjoyed his time here in the last month, starting to get fit and contribute to us.

“He goes back with thanks for his hard word and we have to move on.”
