ASHLEY Hemmnings took his tally for the season to 17 with two goals in a 3-0 win for Harriers over Guiseley.

Hemmings netted either side of the break against the Lions in a game Harriers dominated.

Geraldo Bajrami also scored the first goal of his professional club career with a neat finish.

Harriers were at it and on the front foot from the very off in this one, forcing a corner inside a minute and, within three, Hemmings drawing Mason in goal into an early save.

Ethan Cartwright kept Tom Palmer in goal for Harriers alert with a low shot on six minutes, almost immediately after which Hemmings opened the scoring by nodding Caleb Richards’ cross into the back of the net.

You sensed even at that early stage in the afternoon, Guiseley were deflated and not far from beaten, evidenced in part that for the next half an hour, precious little happened at either end until Hemmings headed another attempt over the bar.

Sam Austin showed good feet on the edge of the area to find room for a shot that drilled just wide, seconds before Bajrami doubled his team’s lead with 37 on the clock. After a clever corner, he was fed the ball and tucked it home from ten yards with accuracy that belied it being his first career goal.

That had Harriers comfortably ahead at the break, and it was a lead they extended further just ten minutes after the restart. Spotting a handball in the area, the referee awarded a spot-kick to the Reds that Hemmings confidently dispatched into the bottom corner.

After the hour, Guiseley did have a brace of chances as Kellett and then Johnston tried their luck, the former heading over before the latter was thwarted by a good Palmer save.

A fourth never really looked on, but Harriers kept complete control of the tie – going closest to netting again with a dozen left to play when Stelring’s low, angled shot was held.
