Kidderminster Harriers can confirm that Neil Male is to step down from his role as CEO at the club at the end of the current season.

Neil has brought a huge amount of business and football experience/support to the new owners of the club since October 2019.

During that time and against the backdrop of a transition of new ownership, financial difficulties and, later, the pandemic, Neil’s time, effort, and experience have been a tremendous asset to all at the football club.

Owner Richard Lane commented: “I’d like to personally thank Neil for his unequivocal support in guiding our football club through a unique and challenging period on and off the field during his tenure.

“Our plan was to create a financially sustainable club and re-engage with our loyal fans and the local community. I believe we can all see how much the club has changed for the better and we must give praise to Neil for his part in our journey together so far.

“We wish him well in the future and look forward to welcoming him as a special guest at Aggborough.”

Neil Male commented: “Well what a journey the last three years have been! From restructuring the football club from top to bottom, guiding us through a global pandemic and bringing back a sense of purpose and passion for the fans and staff.

“When I first took on the role, the club averaged attendances of 800 and was second from bottom. This season we’ve achieved a great FA Cup run, play-offs nearing with possible promotion and the club in a much better financial position.

“One substantial personal achievement was the brokering of the Wolverhampton Wanderers PL2 partnership at Aggborough which has hugely benefitted the club in many ways.

“I have truly enjoyed my time at the club working closely with Richard, Monica, Russ and Jimmy in the initial first two years, and I have reconnected with many old football friends and contacts which has been a personal highlight for me.

“I have now agreed to become joint Chairman of a local community-based men’s football club near to where my other businesses at Warrens Hall Riding School reside for the 2022/23 season, which really excites me.

“I wish Richard, the Board, Staff, players, Russ and Jimmy the very best for the future and shall still be supporting the club as a fan.”
