SAM Austin has completed a move to National League side Notts County for an undisclosed fee.

Sam has been a big part of the team since arriving back in 2016, going on to play 220 matches as a Harrier and making it into last season’s National League North Team of the Season.

The club had rejected interest in Sam for a significant part of 2022, but the popular player now departs Aggborough after Notts County triggered a release clause.

Manager Russ Penn said: “Sam has been a fantastic servant to the club, and we’ll only ever have good things to say about him.

“Notts County triggered his release clause and Sam himself said he felt it was the right time for him to move on. Given those factors, we can’t stand in his way.”

“All of these lads were brilliant for me and contributed a lot to the club – we all wish them well for the future.” Russ Penn

Geraldo Bajrami, who was out of contract at the end of last season, has also signed on at Meadow Lane after the two clubs agreed compensation.

In other news of players from last season, Omari Sterling has signed with a new club after two seasons with Harriers.

Jaiden White will also not be returning to Harriers with Penn confirming the player has been allowed to leave Aggborough to continue his career.

The boss added: “All of these lads were brilliant for me and contributed a lot to the club – we all wish them well for the future.

“Now we have to focus on the squad we’re putting together for the new season, and we can’t wait to get started.”
