JOE Leesley looks set for an extended spell on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury in the New Year clash with Hereford.
Leesley, who has been an influential performer for Harriers since his arrival from Boston, came off against The Bulls despite best efforts to carry on after the first-half blow.
While a more detailed prognosis will be available in due course, the club have seen and heard enough to know the player will, at least, be unavailable for the next couple of months.
Russ Penn explained: “It’s not very good at all, that could be his season done to be honest.
“It’s sad because he has had a big impact on the group, especially in the last month.
“We hope it isn’t going to be as bad, but you’re looking at a minimum of two months to ten weeks and he’s seeing a surgeon today.”
Penn added: “He’ll get looked after… we’ll know a lot more this time next week.
“He has had his scans and we’ve done that really quickly, so I’d like to thank the physio and Doctors at the football club who’ve got on top of that.”
