HARRIERS got back to winning ways with an excellent 1-0 victory at struggling Farsley Celtic.

Krystian Pearce bagged the only goal of the game after just four minutes as he headed home a corner.

It was an otherwise scrappy affair, Farsley going closest with their best chance when Frank Mulhern struck the post from a second-half free kick.

Pearce’s goal – his third of the season – was the ideal start for the visitors. A deadly Leesley corner was met by Pearce’s towering leap in the six-yard area as the defender planted a downward header into the net.

A skirmish at the other end almost allowed Farsley in when Clayton stabbed over, before Kyle Morrison came close to a Harriers second by heading over from another Leesley corner.

On 35 minutes Christian Dibble in the Harriers goal showed great reactions to thwart Farsley. Devine’s shot from distance took a wicked deflection off Shane Byrne and looked to be heading for goal before the custodian got across to make the save.

Early in the second half and after Joe Leesley had struck wide, Dibble was at it again. Mulhern lined up a free kick for the hosts and struck it firmly, the Harriers stopper reaching it with just fingertips to help send it on to the post.

Harriers defended solidly throughout the second half and had one big chance to make their win more comfortable with just a minute left of normal time. Kai Lissimore did well to muscle away the ball in midfield before slipping it to Hemmings. He fired firmly on the angle, but was denied by a smart stop from goalkeeper Dearnley.
