AMARI Morgan-Smith and Zak Brown were on target as Harriers eased to a 3-0 friendly win at Halesowen Town in pre-season.

Not for the first time this summer, Harriers threw a callback to last season – netting early goals – as Morgan-Smith had the net bulging inside 30 seconds with a composed finish after the ball fell to him inside the area.

The striker almost had a second 15 minutes later but was denied by a smart save, before Caleb Richards went close and ex-Harrier Jack Byrne struck the post for The Yeltz at the other end.

Morgan-Smith and Brown both went close in the early stages of the second half before good work from Phillips played in Brown again who was thwarted by another good save.

Brown wasn’t to be denied for long, though. He netted twice in the space of six minutes either side of the hour with close-range finishes from two corners.

At 3-0, Halesowen had their goalkeeper to thank for the score not rising higher still – Gerry McDonagh, Jack Lambert and Brown once again were all among those kept at bay as Harriers finished strongly.

Up next for Harriers in pre-season is the home double header against Liverpool U21 (Friday) and Northampton Town (Tuesday).

Tickets for both are on sale now.
