HARRIERS are delighted to confirm the appointment of Neil McDonald as Assistant Manager to Phil Brown at Aggborough Stadium.

A former Newcastle and Everton player, Neil is a hugely experienced and widely respected figure within football, with an enviable CV as a coach, a number two and a manager in his own right.

Neil has previously spent four years as assistant boss at Hull City, holding similar roles at Crystal Palace, Preston, Blackburn Rovers and Walsall among others. The 58-year-old has also managed the likes of Carlisle United and Blackpool.

Manager Brown, who has worked with McDonald at Swindon and Barrow, said: “I’m delighted to have Neil on board. He has managed a couple of clubs but has also coached at a lot of clubs and has great experience.

“I had a list of assistant managers and coaches that wanted to come and there are a lot of good people out of the game, but to bring Macca into the club, knowing full well what he brings to the party… the players are going to get coached and educated, they’re going to have the knowledge of what Macca brings, along with myself.”

A warm Aggborough welcome to Neil McDonald, who will join Phil Brown in the dugout for the first time as the Harriers management team when Aldershot Town visit Aggborough on Saturday.

Tickets for the game are on sale now, including all U16s for just £1.
