HARRIERS can confirm that Joe Leesley has left the club by mutual consent.
Joe joined Harriers in late 2022 and made a big impression on Harriers fans with his playing style and character, most notably making an unforgettable contribution to our end-of-season run last term that ultimately led to promotion back to the National League.
He’s been out of action for the last number of months as he continues to work through injury and departs Harriers having made a total of 32 to appearances, scoring twice.
Boss Phil Brown said: “I know Joe has been a very popular player here at Aggborough and it has been a disappointment for me that I have just caught him at the wrong time.
“That’s football and it is all about timing – life is all about timing – and I have just come at the wrong club at the wrong time for Joe Leesley.
“Had I come to the right club at the right time, he would have been part and parcel of my playing staff, and I’d have looked forward to working with him because I know he’s a footballer who plays with a smile on his face.
“We’re disappointed but all wish Joe nothing but the best for the future.”
Good luck for whatever comes next, Joe!
