HARRIERS are working closely with Stourport High School and its pupils on a new venture to allow more girls to play and enjoy football.
Harriers Director of Football, Dean Holdsworth and Women’s Manager, Matt Guise have been on the training pitch, coaching an after-school club at the venue as part of a new football programme running over the next four months or so.
Holdsworth explained: “I’m delighted with how positively this has started. The players really enjoyed the first sessions we’ve held and took a lot on board, while getting real enjoyment out of it.
“We’re developing our range of opportunities for women and girls. The Chairman Richard Lane is very keen to develop many new initiatives for the club structure and growth.
“His ambition for the club is very clear and hopefully this is the start, with small steps, to fulfilling this in the future.”
We’d like to thank Headteacher Sara Peace and Head of PE David Richards and all at Stourport High School for their assistance in kicking off the programme, and we look forward to working with them over the coming months.
