A first midweek league encounter for Harriers this season…

HARRIERS host perennial promotion contenders Brackley Town at Aggborough on Tuesday night.
Just days after a challenging but successful day at the office against Radcliffe this past weekend, Phil Brown’s men must tackle a Brackley side who have proven themselves to be a constant presence in the National League North play-off shake-up.
Beaten in last season’s Promotion Final, they’ll be eager to go one better this time around, and secured an important 1-0 win at Chester on Saturday to get them off the mark for the term.
They’ll head to DY10 with former Harrier Shane Byrne within their ranks. Brown is confident the former Aggborough skipper can expect a warm welcome prior to the game, but wants Harriers fans to only have their team on their mind come the night’s conclusion.
The boss said: “They’ve got our Captain from lasty year and, with all due respect to Brackley, they’re here at Aggborough and we have to try and make it, not a fortress, but make it a place players fear before they even step on the turf.
“Shane Byrne won’t be one of those players, he’ll be coming back and hopefully getting a round of applause, I should imagine.
“At the end of the game, I don’t want them applauding Brackley, I want them to be applauding our players and applauding Kidderminster Harriers because of the way we’ve played and, hopefully, the way we’ve addressed a difficult game.”
Harriers are continuing to address the condition of striker Amari Morgan-Smith after he came off after just 13 minutes of Saturday’s win, but are otherwise free of any other major injury concerns.
Ahead of Tuesday’s test, Brown added: “Brackley know the game, know the league, know how to win, know how to get at the top end of the division and know how to get into the play-offs.
“They’ll probably be street wise and well aware of what we’re capable of and they’ll have a game plan.
“All of these things are going to test us.”
Tuesday night’s game kicks off at 7:45pm.
