HARRIERS head to high-flying Curzon Ashton on Wednesday night looking to maintain their own unbeaten run.
Though disappointed to only pick up a share of the spoils against Buxton on Saturday, the 2-2 draw at Aggborough means it’s five games without defeat in the league for Phil Brown’s men.
That’s a solid base to build from, says skipper Amari Morgan-Smith, who is remaining upbeat ahead of the trip to face a Curzon side looking to bounce back from FA Cup defeat at the hands of Mansfield Town on Sunday.
In the league, the Nash are essentially the pace setters. Though third, they’re just three points behind leaders Scunthorpe United but have played two games less.
That means Wednesday’s clash has plenty going for it, with Morgan-Smith keen to keep that momentum up.
Looking ahead, he said: “You have a platform, and you build a platform on being unbeaten, and that’s great for us.
“We’re gonna go to Curzon with a game plan. We’re going to watch them and do a bit of homework on that, and we’ve got to try and take it to them, really.
“A form away is better than home and we want to try and change that as much as possible and make Aggborough a fortress for ourselves.
“We can’t be too low, and I want to try and keep the football club as positive as I can as there are a lot of games to be played.”
Curzon have, historically, always been a good footballing side.
Morgan-Smith, who netted his seventh goal of the season on Saturday, added: “It will be a good game.
“They’ll be a team that want to get the ball down and play, we know from previous experience that they do want to get the ball down and play out from the back.
“It will probably be a good spectacle as we’ll do the same as well; two teams trying to attack.”
Harriers and The Nash have previously met on 12 occasions in National League North, with Harriers winning the last outing, a 1-0 success at the Tameside in 2023.
This season, Curzon’s notable wins include a 4-0 thumping of Chester as well as wins over King’s Lynn, Southport and Scarborough.
Harriers make the trip boosted by the availability of Joe Foulkes after suspension.
Away travel for the journey remains available from Harriers up to and including Wednesday morning.
Kick off on Wednesday night is at 7:45pm.
