Saturday: Harriers head to Fylde

A look ahead to Saturday’s journey in the FA Trophy…

The Isuzu FA Trophy

HARRIERS head to National League outfit AFC Fylde in the Isuzu FA Trophy on Saturday.

The Reds made progress to this stage, where the National League sides enter, with a last-gasp 2-1 win over Halesowen Town at Aggborough in Round Two.

Now, the team must journey to Mill Farm to meet an oft-faced rival in the Coasters, with the sides once again colliding in a cup competition.

It’s a repeat of the 2022 Third Round clash, the omen with Harriers from that date after they triumphed 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Since 2016, Harriers and Fylde have met on 12 occasions, four of those being in cup competitions, The Coasters the last team to win a fixture between the two courtesy of their 2-1 success at Mill Farm early last term.

They retained their National League status last season while Harriers faltered, though there has been a change in management since our last meeting- Kevin Phillips now at the helm and charged with steering then toward success.

Fylde will no doubt be looking to use Saturday’s game to bounce back into form having lost their last three National League encounters, though they have picked up impressive wins over Aldershot and Gateshead in recent months.

Phil Brown’s pre-match interview where he discusses the tie and the Trophy is now available to view:

Harriers will have Jim Kellermann available for selection on Saturday after he re-joined the club from Ebbsfleet, though Kam Kandola misses out through suspension.

Brown noted that Reece Devine may be in line to feature in the squad to some degree, while Tope Obadeyi is also though to be close to a return as the club’s injury picture gradually begins to improve.

Alex Penny and Luke Summerfield remain longer-term absentees, with the boss hopeful Ben Beresford may be in contention for action before the month is out.

Kick off at AFC Fylde on Saturday is at 3:00pm.

Away travel is available from Harriers up to and including Friday, while match tickets can be purchased in advance from the AFC Fylde website.

Please note that due to an event on the premises over the weekend, there supporter parking will be extremely limited.
