ZAK Brown was at the double as Harriers downed Peterborough Sports 3-0 at Aggborough.

After going a few months without bagging, the Harriers No.14 notched a superbly-taken brace in DY10 to see off Peterborough and ensure the team kept their form going.

Tope Obadeyi grabbed the opening goal of the day on 16 minutes. Having earlier seen one effort booted from the line, he made no mistake with a header from six yards that found the net for his fifth goal of the campaign.

Harriers saw out their clean sheet with minimum fuss, but didn’t quite have the swagger in front of goal that they’ve seen in some recent games.  Nonetheless, Caleb Richard’s good work out wide almost helped make a second but Ashley Hemmings fired the effort over the bar.

Peterborough’s best first-half chance was headed wide by Alfie Atherton before the half-hour, and soon after Kouhyar had a sight of goal when his low shot was gathered comfortably enough by Jamie Pardington.

A swift move forward almost earned Harriers a second three minutes before the break but, picking up Dave Worall’s cross, Brown fired high over the target.

Amari Morgan-Smith found good space just four after the restart but drilled wide, before Hemmings’ glancing header on 56 minutes was wide as chances started to build.

A second always felt like it might come and on 68 minutes it did, an excellent finish from Brown finding the net on the angle as he wrapped up a good counter-attacking move, Hemmings freeing Worrall who slid in Brown for the finish.

Five minutes later it was 3-0 and there seemed almost no doubt about the outcome when Brown picked up the ball from Kouhyar, taking a decisive touch before rifling the ball into the top corner to send the North Stand into delight.

The second half also featured a return to action for Joe Foulkes, missing through injury since January.
