HARRIERS earned a 1-0 pre-season win at Droitwich Spa on Tuesday night thanks to an early Dan Mooney strike.
Mooney found the net inside nine minutes, rifling home an accomplished finish after George Walker’s precise ball into the area.
Adam Murray’s side saw more of the ball throughout the first half, with efforts from Jordan Tunnicliffe and Kurt Willoughby both held by the Droitwich keeper as the visitors looked to increase their lead.
There were further chances after the break – Reece Devine and Foulkes Foulkes both made positive contributions from the bench, with Foulkes supplying a dangerous cross that was struck narrowly wide by a trial player.
Academy player Bruce Minaker had a late chance from a corner after getting good contact from a corner but couldn’t quite manage to keep his header down.
Minaker was a lively substitute on a night where the Academy were well represented – Dan Broni-Phillips, Liam Banks, Natty Hewett, Ollie Titterton, Liam Banks and Archie Hill also all in the squad.
A solid showing at this stage of the summer schedule, with more minutes in the tank ahead of Saturday’s visit to EFL outfit Shrewsbury Town.
