Saturday: Harriers v Moors

A look ahead to Saturday’s game…

HARRIERS host Spennymoor Town on Saturday, keen to build on a positive win at Merthyr Town on Tuesday.

Adam Murray’s men were 1‑0 victors in Wales as the side backed up the 1‑1 draw at Chester days prior.

Standing between Harriers and three home points on Saturday are the Moors, who themselves have endured an eventful last couple of games. Spennymoor were 6‑4 winners at home to Merthyr last weekend, but felt the full force of AFC Fylde’s quality with a 5‑0 defeat in midweek.

In previous meetings between Harriers and Spennymoor the history is evenly contested. In October 2024 the two sides played out a 1‑1 draw at Spennymoor, with Isaac Fletcher putting the Moors ahead just before half‑time before Amari Morgan‑Smith levelled with a superb overhead kick shortly after the hour mark.

When they met again in February 2025 Spennymoor ran out 3‑1 winners; Harriers conceded after barely a minute from a free kick headed home, fell further behind from the spot before the break, pulled one back in the second half through Ash Hemmings, but gifted themselves a third late on to end the contest.

Boss Adam Murray has been speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash, his full interview can be viewed by tapping play below.

RESPECT & SUPPORT BALL RETRIEVERS

Ball retrievers, often young people, carry out a vital part of the Aggborough match day.

But did you know, it is NOT their job to ensure play continues quickly by passing the ball to players?

A ball retriever’s job is simple – their instructions are to retrieve balls that have left the field of play and to place them back on cones at pitch side. Players, not retrievers, collect the ball from the cone.

Our young ball retrievers are following official rules – please show them the respect and encouragement they deserve.

Harriers again strongly supports The National League and Football Association in delivering their antisocial conduct message.
