HARRIERS host happy-travelling Bedford Town under the Aggborough lights on Tuesday night.
While Harriers take a mini four-match unbeaten run into the game, Bedford travel to Worcestershire as one of the division’s in-form teams across the last few weeks.
The Eagles have enjoyed an excellent run of results, going five unbeaten in National League North. Tyrone Marsh has been key to their upturn in form, scoring four goals in that time, including a brace in a 2–1 win away at Oxford City on 1 November.
Earlier victories against Oxford at home and Chester on the road have propelled them up the table, with clean sheets along the way showing an increasing defensive sharpness.
Their success under Lee Bircham builds on last season’s Southern League Premier Central title win, and Tuesday night marks a first competitive visit to Aggborough since 1949.
Up to that point, the sides had met frequently across more than three decades. The first encounter came in April 1949, a 0–0 draw, before Harriers recorded a 5–0 win in the return. The 1950s saw a series of classic clashes, including a 6–3 win for Harriers in 1955 and a 3–3 thriller five years earlier.
Though less frequent by the 1980s, the rivalry still had moments, with Harriers running out 3–1 and 2–0 winners in the final two recorded meetings in 1981 and 1982.
For Tuesday’s clash, Harriers will will monitor the fitness of Reece Hall, Jordan Tunnicliffe and David Davis, the trio having been recently ruled out through injury.
Kick off at Aggborough on Tuesday night is 7:45pm.

RESPECT & SUPPORT BALL RETRIEVERS
Ball retrievers, often young people, carry out a vital part of the Aggborough match day.
But did you know, it is NOT their job to ensure play continues quickly by passing the ball to players?
A ball retriever’s job is simple – their instructions are to retrieve balls that have left the field of play and to place them back on cones at pitch side. Players, not retrievers, collect the ball from the cone.
Our young ball retrievers are following official rules – please show them the respect and encouragement they deserve.
