Boss ready for festive tests

ADAM Murray is ready for a “brilliant” set of festive fixtures starting with this weekend’s visit to Aggborough of AFC Fylde.

Harriers head into the Christmas period on the back of a strong run of results, with recent league wins over Chorley and South Shields followed by FA Trophy progress at Worksop Town.

Attention now turns to a busy schedule that will see Harriers face Fylde at home before travelling to Hereford on Boxing Day, hosting AFC Telford United under the Aggborough lights on 30 December, and welcoming Curzon Ashton in the first fixture of the new year.

Speaking ahead of the festive programme, Murray has embraced the challenging run of games, and said: “Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. I think I’ve realised with this team, we raise to the big occasions, and the boys have done that over the last couple of weeks, and they need to continue doing that.

“Like when we were having a little bit of a tough patch and things weren’t going our way, I like to think that we, as a group, inside our camp, we stayed really level-headed and nothing’s changed. We stay focused.”

The Coasters are firmly in place at the top of the table after a sensational opening to the campaign, but Murray is well aware there will be twists and turns aplenty for his team – and everyone else.

“No-one’s going to win anything in this point in the season,” he admitted.

“No-one wins anything at Christmas. We’ve got to make sure we’re in the mix come the end of the season, and we’ll stay focused on what we do in it.

“So, it’s a big month, some big games, some exciting games. I think that’s the thing for me. I think they’re really exciting games for us as players, as staff and for the supporters.

“It’s a good few weeks, so I’m looking forward to it.”
