LUKE Maxwell says work-rate will be at the maximum on Saturday as Harriers host Leamington at Aggborough.

Russ Penn’s men managed their first home league win last time out by downing Blyth Spartans 2-0.

They’re now tasked with building on that when they face Paul Holleran’s men.

The Brakes got back to League action on Tuesday with a deserved point at Farsley Celtic that might well have ended with all three.

The impressive performance was their first outing for a number of weeks after a spell in isolation following positive COVID-19 cases in the camp.

They’ll come to Aggborough full of energy for their first Saturday clash since a trip to Chetser on October 10th.

Midfielder Maxwell is primed for the task ahead, knowing few teams in the League bost a greater work-rate than Saturday’s guests.

“We’re on a nice little run so heads and minds are on Lemaington on Saturday,” he told our YouTube channel.

“They’re a hard-working team – Paul Holleran always has them hard working and they work hard for him.

“They’re a direct team and there are no easy games in this league – we’ll have to be 100% at it [and] on our ‘A’ game.”

Maxwell is himself just a handful of minutes into his season.

The former Gateshead man returned to Aggborough in the summer but saw his preparations curtailed due to an injury sustained in pre-season.

Now he has the difficult task of breaking into the starting line-up with the team in reasonably good form.

He added: “It’s good to be back – I had an injury for a few weeks but I’m back to normal now in training and I feel fit and ready.

“It’s [now] about getting back up to speed because when you’re out, you can’t really do much.

“I’m getting back into training and into a routine, and back to the levels everyone else is at.

“You can see how well they are performing as a unit – you can’t fault any of the lads.”

Harriers will welcome Amari Morgan-Smith back for this fixture following his two-match suspension.

Kick-off at Aggborough is at 3:00pm
